Debate With an Athiest

As I do much research on the Internet, acquiring articles and information about important subject matters. Periodically I get into a debate of difference with someone and usually it is an agnostic or atheist who is critical of the website or the subject matter. One of those was located on "You Tube" recently at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92u23jejwcc#3WMuo_auOMg
which has a beautiful Christian song and video that I have also posted on this blog in the side bar.

I always welcome their criticism and rebuttals. I personally find that my faith and trust in the Lord just increases, because it shows his word to be true about the human heart that he wants to change. Like Romans the 1st chapter that states, "Because the did not like to retain God in their knowledge. He gave them over to a reprobate mind to do those things that are not convenient".

During the postings one of the other atheists also voiced their opinion. This may have been to make some of the readers mad or upset them and it usually has negative results for baby Christians. Adult Christians should not be upset and feel insulted as the Bible tells us, "that on their part he is evil spoken of but, on your part he is glorified". 1Peter 4:14

This was ruenchosan's first response of the video at the beginning and mine as I added my two cents for him to think about. I hoped to keep it going longer but, there is a limit to all of us when we are confronted with the truth.

Faith, bibles, kohran, torahs are only the result of ignorance; which has killed many people thru history. I was in Iraq, Somalia...and I didn't see god, zeus, Venus, or poseidon...please tell me where were they?...Cancun...maybe? Is he still gone?, cause nobody has seen him ever...NOBODY!!!

Remember the old saying. " He couldn't see the forest because of the trees that blocked his vision." Many cannot see the wonders of God, because the world obscures the heart, where God wants to work from the inside out. I too am a Vietnam, vet. God Bless. Tell family hello.

When you scatter seeds they fall among the rocks, among the thorns and in the open where the birds grab them up, but some do fall on good ground and spring up bearing fantastic fruit for many others to enjoy.
As a tree falls. That is the way it will lay throughout eternity. (This was to the person posting the video)Thanks for the video. "You have planted a seed that will bear much fruit and feed the hearts of a lot of hungry people. Bless you and family."

Not really...with all the technology out here, and we can't see him is because do NOT exist, bc is the product of the human creation, a fairy tale, like superman or spiderman...we need to stand by ourselves and love all humans and that's it...end of animosities, wars, etc. Gods are a fantasy, not real, or he has to explain, holocaust, WW1&2, Inquisition, Iraq, Somalia...???

I do not see the wind yet I cool myself and breath it in deeply. I have never seen Love. But I married my wife 36 years ago because of it. I have never seen sound, but I hear beautiful things all around me. All of these require acts of faith. Jesus showed us the heart of God's love and mans heart of hate and selfishness. I will continue with Jesus instead. I have absolutely nothing to lose if I am wrong except the joy and peace I now have, but if you are wrong?? God

I don't need faith to feel the breeze, or sounds, nor love. I have no faith to love my wife, but would your faith prevent accidents? deaths? Humans always based questions with no answers to faith;very convinient, no? I need proof of everything I believe in, or will you love your wife for 1 more day if someone shows you pictures, videos when she was in been with another guy? she may tell you;have faith, that was not me.

Lanny (reply)
Hey Rubenchosan. I think we are having a debate about death and life. However many intellectuals remind me of Mr Spock on "Star Trek". If it was Logical he seemed to understand, but when the captain spoke simple, Mr Spoke was totally confused. Anyway I am having a way to much fun and joy serving the Lord to go back to the worlds logic after 36 years.

Good for you...as you do well, and help others...it's okay. What I dont agree with is War. Enjoy your life and be happy no matter what. Take care!!!

Lanny (Reply)
Rebenchosan. I 100% agree. War is man's past time as well as crime rebellion, hatred, anger, rape, murder. Jesus came to change the hearts of those who would listen. Seed when scattered falls on good ground, rocky ground, among thorns etc. Weeds grow up with the wheat. But, when it is "harvest time" they will be separated in all truth according to the heart.

Other remarks by someone else on the web site concerning the subject.

mother teresa was a nasty little dwarf who only cared about adding numbers to the catholic church rather than changing the conditions of the poor, she would burn in hell (if there was one)

As far as the winner, I have no thoughts concerning that. My only concern is whether or not a seed had been planted. If I plant the seed then God will give the increase. That is not my part of the job. We Christians must realize that it is God's word that changes hearts and not our personal beliefs and status with the Lord.

I have always believed that God can make something out of nothing but, we humans must work with what we have. If we want more than we must ask the one who gives and then receive it in humbleness and subjection to him.

Just plant the seeds and if he gives you a water pot then water according to his directions. But the increase and growth will be up to him (Christ)and the individual's heart. Learning to lead and not push will work much better in the gospel than our own arrogance, criticizing and self righteousness.
